Speed Reducers Design
Regarding the design of the reducers, we focus on telling you about the construction materials and their geometry:
The materials for the manufacture of a road speed reducer must be of quality since it must be guaranteed that the reducers have a long useful life, do not deform, and are stable.
But what materials are recommended? Quality concrete for raised pedestrian speed bumps and high-quality rubber or plastic material for ‘donkey’s back’ speed bumps. These, in addition, must be fastened to the asphalt through screws or chemical adhesives that guarantee that they are perfectly fixed.
Taking into account the geometry, there are different types of road speed reducers:
- Trapezoidal cross-section speed reducers: these reducers also fulfill the function of pedestrian crossings and are slightly elevated.
- Donkey Back Speed Reducers: These are the circular segment cross-section speed reducers.
